What was your first, defining experience with music?

As a child, I often heard my uncle, Siegfried Herrmann, playing the flute at our house, which later impressed me. Also a particular quartet evening from the Leipzig Gewandhaus Quartet is branded in my memory.

What do you find special about your instrument?

You can express yourself the best on a string instrument, and tonal colours are simply one of a kind

What was your most memorable concert experience in Bad Elster to date?

The concerts with Yaakov Rubinstein and Monica Huggett.

To me the Chursächsische Philharmonic Bad Elster is...?

... a refuge of music!

Which composers do you associate with Bad Elster and/or the Chursächsische Philharmonic?

Naturally Johann Christoph Hilf, but also auch Albert Lortzing.

If you were stuck on an abandoned island, which composers would you take with you?

It's obvious: Johann Sebastian Bach!

Why should I go to classical concerts more often?

It's the best form of relaxation!

Which credo would you pass on to up-and-coming musicians?

Have high ideals and great role models.

Which question would you have liked to answer?

How things will continue with cultural offers in Germany...

Mr Kiesling, thank you for your time!
